OPPO AI Features Coming with the OPPO Reno 12 5G Series
The Reno 12 5G series is touted to debut as ‘Your Everyday AI Companion‘, which will pack AI-based features, including AI Best Face, AI Eraser 2.0, AI Studio, and AI Clear Face. OPPO claims that the AI features will eliminate the need for photo editing for pro-grade results.

- AI Eraser 2.0: AI Eraser 2.0 will perform similarly to Google’s Magic Eraser, which erases objects with a tap after circling.
- AI Best Face: The feature is touted as the segment’s only AI closed-eye fixing feature to capture a perfect group photo. So, if someone in the group has their eyes closed, the feature can fix the issue.
- AI Perfect Shot: The AI-powered features will work together to deliver stunning images, including perfect photos for LinkedIn, etc.
- AI Clear Face: The feature uses trained large models to generate facial textures, hair, and more to portray every person in group photos as the main character.
- AI Studio: OPPO says users can transform photos into digital avatars.
OPPO uses advanced tone mapping algorithms to enhance light, colour, and texture and eliminate motion blur. The facial recognition algorithms are claimed to recognise 296 facial features of a human being.
The upcoming smartphones are backed by Google’s Gemini LLM to integrate utilities like AI Writer, AI Summary, and AI Speak. OPPO will also equip the devices with AI Clear Voice to reduce background noise by up to 40 dB and enhance human voices.
The AI LinkBoost can identify data types to optimise network use and cut data lag by up to 25%, ensuring that users can easily access videos, messages, etc. OPPO confirms that the Reno 12 5G series will pack a 5,000mAh battery with 80W SuperVOOC fast charging tech, which can charge from 0 to 100 in 46 minutes.
The Reno 12 5G will be available in Sunset Peach, Astro Silver, and Matte Brown shades in a single variant with an 8GB+128GB configuration. The Reno 12 Pro 5G will be available in 12GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB configurations and Sunset Gold and Space Brown shades.
