Google Announces Hardware Event For August 13; Pixel 9 Series and Watch 3 Series Expected

Google has announced a forthcoming Made by Google event to showcase its upcoming Pixel devices, including the Pixel 9 series and new smartwatches. The event will take place on August 13. The new Pixel 9 series will arrive earlier than expected as Pixel smartphones are usually announced in October. Here are the details.

Google Pixel 9 Series: What We Know So Far

Rumours are rife that the Pixel 9 series will include three models – Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 XL. The Pixel 9 might arrive as the successor to last year’s Pixel 8. Whereas, the Pixel 8 Pro is expected to be succeeded by the Pixel 9 Pro XL. The Pixel 9 Pro will be the company’s new addition to the lineup and is said to come with a compact size. The Pixel 9 series will come with a design overhaul, as per leaked renders. It is said to feature a flat-edge design.

The Pixel 9 is said to feature a 6.03-inch flat display and a dual-rear camera setup. The Pixel 9 Pro might sport a 6.1-inch display and a triple-rear camera setup with a telephoto camera. The Pixel 9 Pro XL might offer a 6.5-inch display and a triple camera with a telephoto camera and variable aperture on the rear.

Google might also unveil the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold, the Pixel Watch 3, and the Pixel Watch 3 XL at the forthcoming event. The Pixel Watch 3 XL will be the company’s first watch with the XL moniker and is said to feature a 1.45-inch display. The Pixel Watch 3 will reportedly come with a 1.2-inch display.
