Apple has finally released the much-awaited public beta update for iOS 18, along with that of iPadOS 18, macOS Sequoia, watchOS 11, and tvOS 18. The newest builds have been made available after over a month of developer beta testing. While public beta software can also have bugs and issues, it is usually much more stable than trying out a developer beta.

If you want to sign up, visit the Apple Beta Software Program website. Once enrolled, visit your eligible device’s software update settings to look for the latest public beta version. You can then download and install it, the same way as you do for a stable OS update.

iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS Public Beta: What’s New?

Apple has packed the upcoming iOS 18 with new customization features, including the ability to move app icons around. There will be a revamped Siri powered by all-new Apple Intelligence features, available only on iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Other changes include a redesigned Control Center, a new Photos app, and lock screen customization.

As for iPadOS 18, the features are similar to the new iOS 18 but there are a few unique additions. Apple has finally added a native Calculator application for iPad. There is support for Smart Script and Collapsible sections within the Notes application. macOS Sequoia has got the biggest addition in the form of iPhone mirroring, which will let users mirror their iPhone to a Mac. There is a new window management option, a new Passwords app, new video conferencing features, and more.

watchOS 11 beta will add new features like Live Activities, a new Vitals app, Training Load, interactive widgets, turn-by-turn hiking navigation, etc. Lastly, tvOS 18 beta brings the InSight feature to Apple TV+ users. This is similar to the X-Ray feature on Amazon Prime Video, which offers details and trivia related to the movie/TV show you are watching.
