Apple has started rolling out iOS 18 Developer Beta 2 and iPadOS 18 Developer Beta 2. This comes two weeks after the iOS 18 announcement at WWDC. The iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 Beta 2 updates come with some major changes, including RCS support, iPhone mirroring, and more. Here’s a look at the details.

Apple iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 Developer Beta 2: Major Changes

Apple has enabled iPhone mirroring with the iOS 18 Developer Beta 2. iPhone mirroring allows you to mirror the iPhone’s screen on a Mac (signed in with the same Apple account). With iPhone mirroring, you can manage your iPhone’s notifications and use iPhone apps from your Mac while your ‌iPhone‌ is locked. You will require a Mac running macOS Sequoia developer beta 2 for this.

iOS 18 developer beta 2 also introduces SharePlay screen sharing, which allows you to control the other person’s screen. The update also supports RCS. Under the Messages settings, a new toggle for RCS Messaging has been added.

The iPadOS 18 developer beta 2 supports alternative app stores in the EU in response to DMA. Users also have the option to set a default browser and choose browser engines other than Safari’s.

This is in addition to several iOS 18 features like Control Centre customisations, the ability to hide apps, arrange the apps anywhere on the home screen, and so much more. You can also check out some nifty iOS 18 features that we found rather useful.
