The Realme GT 6 offers a model equipped with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, priced at Rs 44,999. However, the 16GB RAM option for the Realme GT 6T is unavailable.

Thus, if having more RAM is your priority, the Realme GT 6 would be the better choice. Remember that opting for higher RAM also means a higher price.

We received the Realme GT 6T and Realme GT 6 in the Fluid Silver colourway for our review. Design-wise, both phones look identical. The silver finish is not eye-catching and attracts fingerprints, making the devices look messy.

Design Comparison

Both phones feature a distinctive silver paint patch that acts like a mirror, adding a reflective element to their design. Overall, there’s no discernible difference in the design of the two models.

The curved display on both devices gives them a premium feel, and the gentle curvature enhances the handling experience. They both sport a 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED display. Fortunately, the curved edges do not cause accidental touches, which is a definite plus.

On Netflix, both phones support Widevine L1 but lack HDR functionality. It would have been beneficial if at least the Realme GT 6 supported HDR10.

Both devices have excellent display quality for multimedia consumption. However, the Realme GT 6’s display appears more vibrant than that of the GT 6T.

Both phones offer a remarkable peak brightness of 6000 nits. Whether used indoors or outdoors, they remain impressively bright. No other phones come close to brightness under direct sunlight. The audio quality on both devices is commendable. However, the Realme GT 6’s audio has a slightly crisper quality.

The Realme GT 6T is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 SoC, while the Realme GT 6 utilises the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC, based on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset framework. Other devices like the POCO F6 and Xiaomi 14 CIVI also feature the 8s Gen 3 chipset.

Both phones excel in multitasking and deliver smooth performance for tasks such as scrolling through Instagram and casual browsing.

BGMI performs adequately on this GT 6T, but Call of Duty: Mobile also doesn’t fare well. Both games would benefit from better optimisation on the Realme GT 6T.

The Realme GT 6T and GT 6 capture vivid images in bright daylight. However, the GT 6T’s camera sometimes produces photos with noise along the edges. Conversely, the Realme GT 6 performs exceptionally well in low-light settings, capturing high-quality photos. Its portrait mode is also impressive, with precise edge detection.

One downside is that both devices tend to over-brighten their photos, which might appear somewhat artificial to some users. Despite this, the resulting images typically require little to no additional editing. Both phones also handle dynamic range quite well. The telephoto lens on the Realme GT 6 delivers good pictures, though occasionally they can be slightly grainy.

The Realme GT 6T’s selfie camera produces better selfies than the GT 6’s. However, the GT 6 sometimes shows a red hue around the cheeks and chin in various lighting conditions. Overall, the Realme GT 6 offers superior performance across most scenarios. However, its selfie camera could benefit from some improvements.

Realme GT 6T vs Realme GT 6: Software

The Realme GT 6T and GT 6 come with Realme UI 5.0, based on Android 14. The GT 6T includes lock screen customisation, floating windows, and smooth animations.

On the other hand, the Realme GT 6 is branded as a “NextAI” device, and Realme’s AI claims for this model hold. The GT 6 is equipped with several AI-powered features, including:

• Night Vision: This AI capability captures clear, sharp photos in a low-light environment.
• Smart Removal: This feature lets you easily remove unwanted objects or people from your photos.
• Smart Loop: By creating a loop of frequently used apps, this feature simplifies sending important notes or images. It makes the process faster by allowing direct access to these apps, saving you from multiple steps.

Additionally, the GT 6 boasts dedicated RAM specifically for gaming, which enhances gameplay efficiency. The split view feature is excellent for multitasking, enabling you to run multiple apps side by side. Moreover, the phone includes a Riding Mode, which, when activated, silences all notifications except incoming calls, ideal for minimising distractions.

However, both phones come preloaded with several bloatware apps that can detract from the user experience. Some of these, like Snapchat and Facebook, can be useful for many users but can be easily uninstalled if not needed.

In conclusion, the Realme GT 6 is an excellent choice if you’re looking for a device with advanced features.

Realme GT 6T vs Realme GT 6: Battery and Charging

Both phones feature a 5500mAh battery and include a 120W SUPERVOOC charging adapter in the box. The Realme GT 6T charged from zero to 100 per cent in 33 minutes, while the GT 6 took 10 minutes longer.

The 10-minute difference is puzzling. We tested the charging time of the Realme GT 6 twice: the first time, it charged in 44 minutes, and the second time, it took 43 minutes. Realme claims a full charge time of 28 minutes for the GT 6. Unfortunately, our testing revealed a discrepancy of about 15 minutes.

During the PCMark Battery Test, there was only a two-minute difference between the two devices. The Realme GT 6T lasted two minutes less than the GT 6. Both devices performed well in this battery test.

In terms of battery life, both the GT 6 and GT 6T can last an entire day with casual use. However, for heavy users, the phones may last about 11-12 hours before needing a recharge.

Therefore, both are reliable devices in terms of battery life. However, the GT 6T is better if you prefer a phone that charges faster.

Realme GT 6T vs Realme GT 6: Verdict

The Realme GT 6T and the Realme GT 6 feature a similar design, nearly identical displays, and dependable battery life. However, the Realme GT 6 stands out in terms of performance, advanced software capabilities, and the inclusion of a telephoto camera. These enhancements do come at a higher price point.

With a substantial price difference between the two models, the Realme GT 6 offers superior performance across most aspects. If you’re looking for an exceptional camera, software that enhances usability, and top-tier gaming performance, the Realme GT 6 is the better option.

Conversely, if you prioritise a high-quality display, seek good overall performance, and want cameras that perform well in most cases, the Realme GT 6T will suffice.
