YouTube has announced several new features for YouTube Premium users worldwide. The features introduced by YouTube include skipping ahead to key moments, smart downloads for offline viewing, and more. Check out the details below.

YouTube Premium: New Features

YouTube has made it easy to jump into a part of a video by integrating a new ‘Jump Ahead’ button. The new button will pop up when the Premium user double-taps to skip parts of the video.

The ‘Jump Ahead’ button will automatically jump to the exact timeline of the video that the user wants to watch. The feature uses a combination of AI and viewership data and is available for all YouTube Premium customers on Android in the US. The feature will soon be available for iOS users in the coming weeks.

YouTube has introduced a picture-in-picture (PiP) mode for YouTube Shorts, allowing users to multitask while watching short videos.

There are new experimental features like the latest layouts, assistive AI, and more, which can be accessed by tapping here. YouTube has introduced smart downloads for YouTube Shorts, which will download fresh short videos on the user’s phone.

The introduction of the feature will allow users to watch YouTube Shorts while travelling on subways, flights, and more where there are no networks. The assistive tool is available for YouTube Premium users in the US and can answer questions, suggest related content, and more without interrupting playback.

The tool can be accessed by tapping the “Ask” button below select videos. YouTube is also testing a redesigned watch page on the web to improve the viewing experience and make it easier to find related content.
