Google is revamping Gmail’s ‘Quick Reply’ feature, which is claimed to streamline email responses. The feature has been in testing for quite some time and has finally been permanently added to Gmail’s Android app. So, let’s take a closer look at what has been changed.

Gmail’s Redesigned ‘Quick Reply’ Feature

It now has a chat-style interface that replaces the traditional pill-shaped action buttons with a stationary text field. This update allows users to compose responses instantly without navigating to a separate screen.

To speed up and simplify email replies, Gmail is now offering a bubble at the bottom of messages, with options to reply, reply all, forward, and attach files. The new chat bubbles also allow expanding the text box for more detailed replies and referencing the email content while typing, enhancing the overall user experience.

Other Gmail Features

According to a recent report from Android Authority, Google may introduce a new Gemini Button on its Gmail app on Android. This feature, which has long been available for Workspace users on desktop, is finally expected to arrive on Android. It assists users with email summaries and other tasks.

What About the Availability?

Google is gradually releasing this update for Android devices, so the feature is not available to everyone yet. Since it is a server-side update, users will not need to update their Gmail app to access the redesigned feature. We also checked for it on our Nothing Phone (2), but it is still unavailable. Though we are hoping it will arrive soon!
