Today, Google has started rolling out multiple new features for Android and Wear OS users around the globe to improve their user experience. The release of God of War Ragnarok has also been confirmed for Q3 of 2024. Let’s look at the top five important news stories of the day.

Google Feature Drop Update

The new feature drop update rolled out by Google is available for Android smartphones, tablets, and Wear OS-running smartwatches. The major update includes the addition of an edit button for messages sent using the RCS protocol on Google messages. Chromebooks and tablets can connect to hotspots on Android smartphones without the need for passwords.

God of War Ragnarod PC Release Confirmed

Sony has confirmed the release of God of War Ragnarod for PC at the State of Play event. The PC edition of the game will be released on September 19, 2024, and was developed in collaboration with Jetpact Interactive. The game is set to support 4K resolution with unlocked framerates, better integration with NVIDIA RTX DLSS, and more.

Sony confirms that the game will work with 21:9 ultrawide screens and 32:9 super ultrawide screens. Read more here.

Instagram Brings New Notes and Account Privacy Features

Instagram has started rolling out a new update for Instagram Notes, which brings new features like prompts, likes, and mentions. The prompt feature will help users interact with your followers, which is one of the best ways to get a conversation started. Instagram users can also view the likes they received for their Instagram Notes.

Gmail Quick Reply Feature Gets Makeover

The makeover of Quick Reply is intended to streamline email responses. The feature now has a chat-style interface with the traditional pill-shaped action buttons. The Gmail app also allows users to compose responses instantly, skipping the requirement to open a new screen. The new features will roll out as a server-side update, which takes time to reach all users around the globe.

OpenAI Launches ChatGPT Edu

ChatGPT Edu will integrate AI into various academic and campus operations. OpenAI has launched the ChatGPT Edu based on the latest GPT-4o. The AI will be responsibly integrated into students, faculties, researchers, and more. OpenAI claims that the ChatGPT Edu can interpret text, code, mathematics, and more.
