Ubisoft Forward 2024: Star Wars Outlaws, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, and More

After a busy weekend with Summer Game Fest 2024, the Xbox Games Showcase, Ubisoft has made the stage for Ubisoft Forward 2024 focused on two of its biggest games for 2024, Star Wars Outlaws and Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

We have received updates on several existing games like XDefiant, The Crew Motorfest, and Skull and Bones. The showcase also shared some updates on Prince of Persia titles, including the Sands of Time Remake. Here are all the announcements from Ubisoft’s own Gaming Showcase 2024.

Ubisoft Forward 2024: Everything Announced

Star Wars Outlaws

Ubisoft Forward 2024 started with a deep dive into its biggest upcoming title, Star Wars Outlaws, releasing on August 30, 2024(PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC). A 10-minute gameplay trailer revealed exploration across the galaxy, featuring space combat, speeder chases on Tatooine, and an infiltration mission.

The demo showcased various gameplay elements, including space combat, reputation management with criminal syndicates, and exploration of diverse locations like Tatooine. Highlights included a dogfight with Junkros fighters and a stealth mission to find an old gunslinger. A second overview trailer showcased the vast alien species, explorable planets, and diverse gameplay styles.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows

The game takes players to feudal Japan for the first time, with a unique dual-protagonist structure. Players can choose between the stealthy shinobi Naoe and the powerful samurai Yasuke, with distinct playstyles. A 13-minute gameplay walkthrough showcased Naoe’s approach, utilizing the night and rooftops to infiltrate a castle, while another segment highlighted Yasuke’s brute force as he cut through enemies. Both characters are tasked with eliminating corrupt figures, and the extended gameplay preview offers a glimpse into their deadly skills.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC and Mac(announced at WWDC24) On November 15. The game is said to arrive on iPad too.

Anno 117: Pax Romana

Ubisoft unveiled Anno 117: Pax Romana, the next instalment in the long-running city-builder series. Set in the ancient Roman Empire, the game will be available on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5 in 2025. Players will take on the role of a Roman governor, tasked with overseeing the growth of their empire. A live-action trailer humorously depicted the challenges of governing an ancient province, including managing quirky subjects like goats. Players will have to build cities, forge trading alliances, and guide the provinces of Albion and Latium to prosperity.

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake

Ubisoft’s Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake, which has been in development for a long time, is now slated for release in 2026. Although no new footage was shown, Ubisoft has provided a release window, assuring fans that the highly anticipated remake is on its way.

The Rogue Prince of Persia and The Last Crown DLC

Ubisoft has announced several updates for Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. A free content update, available now, includes revised bosses, puzzle challenges, new amulets, new outfits, and the Divine Trials platforming challenges. Additionally, story DLC titled Mask of Darkness is set to release in September.

Meanwhile, the roguelite platformer The Rogue Prince of Persia will receive the Temple of Fire update, bringing tougher challenges to the early access game.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora‘s (Read Review) first story DLC, The Sky Breaker, will be released as part of the game’s season pass with a second story pack, Secrets of the Spires, and a bonus quest. In this DLC, players will return to their Na’vi tribe to face off against the RDA and protect the unity of the clans when a mysterious shadow threatens them from the sky. A new trailer for The Sky Breaker was also revealed, providing exclusive insights into the upcoming content.

The DLC is said to be released on July 16.

XDefiant Season 1

Ubisoft’s free-to-play shooter XDefiant will launch its first season on July 2. Players can look forward to new maps, weapons, a Capture the Flag mode, and the addition of the GSK faction from Rainbow Six Siege. The season will introduce a ranked progression system, with three new weapons and one new map a month, including maps like Daytona and Clubhouse. A full reveal of Season 1 is scheduled for July 1.

Skull and Bones

Ubisoft’s Skull and Bones is gearing up for exciting content updates in its upcoming seasons. Season 2, titled Chorus of Havoc, introduces a formidable opponent, a Megalodon and a new manoeuvrable ship named The Brig and time-limited boat race events. Additionally, a highly requested feature, fleet management, is finally being added.

Season 3, titled Into the Dragon’s Wake, brings new challenges such as facing the Hubac Twins and a Flying Dragon sea monster. Additionally, a new 5v5 PvP mode will add further depth to the game’s multiplayer experience.

The Crew Motorfest Year 2 Roadmap

Season 4 will round up Year 1 for the Crew Motorfest and now the Devs are revving up for its second year of content. Set to kick off in November 2024, Year 2 promises a brand new island to explore and a fleet of new vehicles to collect and fresh playlists to try out.

Additionally, players can anticipate The Chase Squad, a new story content set for release in November, as teased in a recent trailer. This premium DLC will see a full reveal in September, offering further excitement for fans.
