After a short delay, Ubisoft has launched The Rogue Prince of Persia in Early Access via Steam. Celebrating the launch, developer Evil Empire (maker of Dead Cells) rolled out an Early Access Launch Trailer and announced a 10% discount on the game for one day.
The Rogue Prince of Persia Out Now in Early Access
Ubisoft has expanded the Prince of Persia franchise with The Rogue Prince of Persia, the second entry in the series released in 2024. This roguelike 2D platformer follows the critically acclaimed Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, launched in January.
The game was originally slated to release in Early Access on May 14 but was delayed due to the success of Hades 2. However, the game is now live on Steam’s Early Access. It is available for Rs 1,259 (10% off).
The new launch trailer features the Prince performing impressive moves, acrobatics, and combat manoeuvres as he dashes through the city and fights enemies. It also includes some humorous moments, highlighting the challenges of facing various hazards typical in roguelike games across multiple runs.
At launch, The Rogue Prince of Persia featured six biomes to explore, eight main weapons, six tools, two bosses, and thirty trinkets, allowing players to create a playstyle that suits their preferences. These elements help The Prince save Ctesiphon (game’ setting) from a Hun invasion.
So far, the game has received positive reviews, although Early Access will feature limited game content. More content, including additional levels, weapons, and bosses, will be added.
As we mentioned earlier, the developers considered early access as they wanted to create the best version of this game by working with the player community. Eventually, the game goes to another upgrade when the 1.0 version launches.
The Rogue Prince of Persia: Platforms, PC Specs
The Rogue Prince of Persia is available on PC via Steam’s Early Access. Evil Empire has confirmed that the game will be available on consoles with the v1.0 release.
