Rockstar’s most loved open-world cowboy title, Red Dead Redemption, initially launched for PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2010. A PC port of the game has been awaited for a long time, and a new leak suggests this could happen. After 14 years of its release, Red Dead Redemption could finally arrive on PC.

Tez2, a popular GTA data miner, found a snippet of code from the Rockstar launcher site. The screenshot of the code suggests a potential PC release of Red Dead Redemption, encompassing both the base game and its acclaimed Undead Nightmare expansion.

As seen in the tweet, the text itself reads, “RDR_ProductPromotion_Intro_Body”, and is followed by, “Journey across the sprawling American West and Mexico in Red Dead Redemption, and its zombie-horror companion, Undead Nightmarenow playable on PC.”

Upon asking for the source of this leak, the data miner added that he found these marketing strings from Rockstar’s launcher site file updation. He further mentioned that similar marketing strings are used to promote GTA V.

While we don’t know when this message will go live, the message certainly claims the Red Dead Redemption PC port is imminent. However, we have to wait until Rockstar makes an official announcement.

The beloved 2010 Western title, originally released for PS3 and Xbox 360, saw its extension to PS4 and Nintendo Switch ports in 2023. While these ports brought the game to new audiences, some fans were left wanting more regarding graphical improvements. Considering the letdown of the PS4 and Switch ports of the game, the community will hope for a meaningful PC upgrade.
