Assassin’s Creed Shadows is arriving on November 15th, and Ubisoft has released the first trailer to give us a glimpse and a substantial look at the game’s two protagonists. Players will control Naoe, a stealthy shinobi, and Yasuke, a powerful samurai based on a legendary historical figure. Here’s all you need to know.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows Coming Soon
Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Amazon Luna, Mac (Apple Silicon), and PC (Ubisoft & Epic Games Stores).
Assassin’s Creed Shadows features an “intertwined story” set during the turbulent late Sengoku period. Players will take on the roles of both Naoe and Yasuke, and players can switch between characters as they progress through different missions.
The trailers showcase a stark contrast in playstyles. Players can choose brute force with Yasuke, a powerful warrior who dominates enemies head-on. On the other hand, they can embrace Naoe, a master of stealth using light, noise, shadows, and even the environment to take down foes silently.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows takes players into a sprawling, vibrant 16th-century Japan powered by the latest Anvil engine. Players must build a network of spies, recruit allies, and customise their hidden base. The game’s map is huge similar to AC Origins, but feels more realistic with towering mountains and legendary castles, reports IGN.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows: Editions, Price, Pre-order Details and PC Specs
AC Shadows is available to pre-order on the Epic Games Store, and the Ubisoft Store. Ubisoft also unveiled the game’s various editions which are mentioned below.
- The standard edition (Rs 4,899) of the game includes the base game and pre-order bonus
- The Gold Edition (Rs 7,699) includes the base game, Season Pass (featuring a bonus quest, upcoming expansions, and early access), and lets you play 3 days before the official release.
- The Ultimate Edition (Rs 8,999) ups the ante with the base game, Season Pass, and the Ultimate Pack. The Ultimate Pack includes character and hideout customization options, a bonus skill boost, and a unique photo mode filter. You’ll also get 3-day early access.
- The Collector’s Edition goes beyond the Ultimate Edition with cool physical stuff like a steel bookcase, a big world map, figurines of the characters, a life-size replica of Naoe’s sword guard, a fancy wall scroll, a thick art book, and even some traditional paintings Plus, you get to play for 3 days early.
Players should note that the Collector’s edition is available in limited quantities and can be pre-ordered via at select retailers. The Ultimate Edition comes on disc for Xbox Series X/S (two discs) and PlayStation 5 (one disc), while PC players get a digital download code.
To play Assassin’s Creed Shadows on PC, you’ll need a Ubisoft account and a PC running Windows 10. You’ll need an Intel i7-8700k/AMD Ryzen 5 3600 CPU, 16GB of RAM, and an Nvidia GTX 2070/AMD RX 5700XT graphics card. The minimum requirements are an Intel i7-4790/AMD Ryzen 5 1600 CPU, 8GB of RAM, and an Nvidia GTX 1060/AMD RX 570 GPU, but expect lower graphical settings.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows Physical Copies Require Internet to Install the Game
Ubisoft has clarified the internet connectivity requirements for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, their upcoming title set in feudal Japan. Unlike the initial PlayStation Store listing suggesting mandatory online play, the game will only require an internet connection during the installation process. It’s just a one-time download to get the game started, similar to what happened with Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.

While the specific reason for online installation remains undisclosed, it’s anticipated to be a minor inconvenience for most players with a stable internet connection.
